Got the "Official" TriItForLife training schedule at the kickoff on Sunday. Have been working on it this week. As the training times increase I am trying to figure out how I am going to maintain my strength training (which I really like because I am actually starting to lean out some) and add the actual tri training. Guess I will switch strength to mornings since most training sessions are in the evenings.
And yes - I increased the actual running part of my slogging today - I actually "ran" (I use the word loosely) for a total of 8 minutes out of 20. YY - I know I'm not breaking any world records here - but I HATE to run :P
Someone please tell me again why I am doing a tri???????
I got a crazy notion that I am going to do a triathlon. Once upon a time - I was young and thin and athletic. Now I am older and larger and out of shape. This must change. I don't know where this idea came from - it just popped into my head one day and did not leave (like so many of my other crazy ideas). I checked into this thing called triathlon and found http://www.slowfattriathlete.com/. I think that was the tipping point - she convinced me I could do it.

Heavy lifting my A........
OK - I must admit - I like going to the gym and throwing some iron around. I have been working on my strength in preparation for the big push to RR-RH. My training partner Miss Y and I have been egging each other on. I missed a handful of workouts in the past couple of weeks (my boys were completing the driving part of Driver's Ed - which coincided annoyingly with my gym time) while she has been steadily going on. She has a trainer (she is on a figure competition plan - though she has no plans to compete). Y got her new sets of workouts to start today. She has been letting me lead the way at the gym - but we did her trainer's suggested routine today. <pout> I didn't even break a sweat. I did however up my weight significantly. Tomorrow - legs!!! (My faves :) )
