I got a crazy notion that I am going to do a triathlon. Once upon a time - I was young and thin and athletic. Now I am older and larger and out of shape. This must change. I don't know where this idea came from - it just popped into my head one day and did not leave (like so many of my other crazy ideas). I checked into this thing called triathlon and found http://www.slowfattriathlete.com/. I think that was the tipping point - she convinced me I could do it.

Let it Snow .... Ice ... Come on and melt already!!!!!
The storm of the century has put me inside - with the kiddos - and while cabin fever has not yet set in - I would like to get out and do some wogging . I have relegated myself to working on my butt stamina and gliding on my Gazelle and doing some stretching and weight training. Yoga later. It is still very icy outside and the kids are on their third day of no school. This has been a really good exercise in using up stuff in the pantry. Plus - Eating Clean has let me drop 3 lbs - go me!!!

I want to do more ...
.... I thought to myself as I walked this morning. And about an hour after I got home my knees started to bitch. Le sigh. I walked a lot faster this morning than I have - same distance - quicker time.
I am one of those people that wants to go faster, harder NOW!!!! I must stop this. I am not a kid any more. And I am fat.

I haven't been able to fit in swimming yet this week - another scheduling roadblock was thrust upon me unexpectedly. My boys were jumped up the list for Drivers Ed. It is after school so they are not done until 5. Which pushes back supper. Which pushed back time to go swimming ................

I want to swim
but the Y has changed the lap swim availability on my chosen days prior to December. Phooey.
Just as well - I was wanting to swim 3 days a week at about the same time and as it was - I was trying to fit in a pool workout on a weekend day. So - in trying to nail down my training schedule - I am making some - at least for me - major changes.
I did walk today. And yes - it was cold again. I also set up my bike on the trainer and did 15 minutes. Gotta toughen up that butt .......

So .....
It is 2011 - and I am starting again. From the beginning.
December turned into an unseasonably cold and extremely busy time around here. It was miserable to be outside and the hurry scurry of Christmas preparations kept me from fulfilling my swimming and gym workouts.
I did - however - sign up for two - count 'em - ONE - TWO Sprints. Paid my money and everything.
And so - the kids went back to school today and I started my walking again. Man it was cold. Not as bone chilling cold as back in December - but cold still. Only 1/2 mile , but I am still too heavy and since I had knee issues off and on during my first attempts to start a training program - I am going to take it WAY slow.
